6th Grade Science:
Monday: Levels of Organization formative quiz. Organisms and source of energy (pgs. 8,9) Tree Map. Data from Ecosystem in a Bottle observation.
Tuesday: Show how energy flows through a Michigan ecosystem by means of a food chain (5 steps minimum), and a food web (10 organisms minimum). See page 10.
Wednesday: Data from Ecosystem in a Bottle observation. Finish/discuss from Tuesday. Vocabulary update.
Thursday: Finalize "Ecosystem in a Bottle" lab activity. Work on and complete lab sheets with emphasis on recording and analyzing data. Clean up and take home bottles.
Friday: Outdoor Learning Lab - Abiotic and Biotic factors, and examples of levels of organization studying 3 ecosystems (field, woods, and stream)
7th Grade Science:
Monday: Assign worksheet that requires students to draw models of 17 different atoms.
Tuesday: Finish above activity. Read as a class pages 56-59 (Elements) and discuss.
Wednesday: Using pages 56-59 (Elements) complete circle map and Directed Reading activity with focus on characteristics of an element.
Thursday: Review model of atoms activity by working with a partner (match those who understand with those who are still struggling), and than compare with your table.
Friday: Formative quiz: Atom models. Discuss element worksheets from Wednesday
